Meet Favian Roldan, Account Executive at Rose Paving. He is based in Sunrise, FL. With over fourteen years of experience in the paving industry, he brings interesting insights into what it takes to succeed in his role. He has a unique perspective considering the recent merger between Rose Paving and Atlantic Southern Paving and Sealcoating (ASP).
How long have you been in the industry and with Rose Paving/ASP?
I began my career in the paving industry with Atlantic Southern Paving and Sealcoating 14.5 years ago. I created and developed the permit department from the ground up —from establishing protocols and procedures to ensure that our permit processes aligned with regulatory standards. In 2017, I became a National Account Manager, when our national presence exploded as a national paving contractor. With the merger between ASP and Rose Paving, I am now working with the Rose team as an Account Executive.
Tell us about your current role. What does a typical day look like for you?
My current role is in sales as an Account Executive. I am constantly talking to clients, learning about their needs so that I can relay that information to our procurement and production teams. This allows me to provide an excellent paving experience for the client.
How has your experience evolved throughout the merger between ASP and Rose Paving?
The merger from ASP to Rose has been an exciting journey of transformation and growth. The transition has brought about significant changes in the way we operate, with a stronger emphasis on collaboration and shared responsibilities. One of the key changes has been learning to delegate and trust other team members to handle tasks with the same commitment and enthusiasm as I do. This experience has reinforced the importance of teamwork and has ultimately enhanced our operational efficiency.
Change has been constant throughout the merger process, and many of these changes have been positive. The merger has prompted us to re-evaluate and improve our processes, leading to better resource allocation and more robust project management. In many cases, we’re now more efficient and innovative, with responsibilities more clearly defined and distributed among team members. This not only improves the quality of work we deliver but also ensures that we are better equipped to handle the challenges that come with growth.
I am genuinely excited about the ongoing changes and the growth of our company. While there are always growing pains with any significant transition, I’m confident that in a year from now, we’ll look back and laugh at some of the challenges we faced. The progress we’re making now is laying the foundation for a stronger, more dynamic, and resilient organization in the future.

What do you enjoy most about working at Rose Paving/ASP?
What I enjoy most about my role is my coworkers. We truly feed off each other’s positive energy and collaborative spirit. The camaraderie in our team makes even the most challenging days enjoyable, and it creates an environment where we can all thrive. Our mutual support fosters creativity and accountability, which in turn leads to better decision-making and a more rewarding work experience. Two individuals who have profoundly influenced my career and personal development are Mike Curry and Terry Smith.
If you could describe your job in three words, what would they be?
Always be selling.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy photography. I have a deep passion for black & white landscape photography. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about capturing the natural beauty of the outdoors—the interplay of shades of light and terrain. I also enjoy the process of printing my photographs in my darkroom, where I can fine-tune each image to bring out the subtle details and textures that make every scene unique.
What’s something about you that your coworkers might not know?
My coworkers know me well – they know what ticks me off and what I like to laugh about, including my sarcastic humor.
