Flag Dedication Ceremony
Our Bridgeview, IL-based team, along with the local Marine Corps League, performed a ceremony last month on Friday, November 14, 2014, to dedicate our new flag and pole to all the men and women that serve our country.
The ceremony consisted of several parts including the presentation of the flag, the acceptance and dedication of the flag, and the raising of the flag. The Marine Corps League, comprised of 2 riflemen and 2 flag bearers, along with our CEO, Alan Rose, and several members of management, including Jose Valdez, Branch Operations Manager and former Marine, and were in attendance to witness this special ceremony. As “Old Glory” waved proudly in front of Rose Paving corporate headquarters, all in attendance stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
Similar flag dedications are planned for each of Rose Paving’s U.S. offices in 2015, and all will likewise honor our nation’s service men and women.
Did you know?
- The flag should be lighted at all times, either by sunlight or by an appropriate light source.
- The flag should never be used for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
- When a flag becomes frayed or worn to the point it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be destroyed by burning in a dignified manner.
- When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height.
